Our club was founded in 1986 by Anthony Collier, Martin Rice and Jimmy O'Neil who were all staff members of Drogheda train station. The club was originally called CIE and for many years it was just a nine hole course. As the game grew in popularity a further nine holes were added and in 1992 we held our first open with our new 18 hole course. The course now offered a large selection of shots which took advantage of our hillside field. Our next land mark was the conversion of an old railway passenger carraige. This carriage became our clubhouse and we still use it today.

We then planed a new entrance which would replace the winding pathway used to climb the hill. This entrance was introduced in 2000. In 2002 we faced our biggest test, with the expansion of the train station. We lost a section of the course to the development works and we had to re-design our course layout. On the positive side we put in place a new clubhouse and better access to our course.
